Emily Kilgore comes to the firm with over 28 years of experience as an employment lawyer and human resources executive. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, she spent several years with both national and boutique law firms as well as over 20 years in-house (most recently as the Chief Human Resources Officer for a privately-held national youth sports club and event operator).
She gained much of her expertise during the combined 14 years she spent with two California-based companies heading up their North America employment law groups, including several years as Deputy General Counsel/Employment Law. In these roles, she was responsible for providing day-to-day advice and counseling on a myriad of employment law issues; overseeing employment litigation; and directing the employee relations and workforce compliance functions.
She has represented both large and small companies in a variety of industries including logistics, retail, call centers, financial services, hospitality, healthcare, non-profit, and arts and entertainment.
Prior to practicing law, Emily graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University and received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
When it comes to advising her clients, Emily is passionate about providing practical guidance that allows companies to achieve their business goals while keeping employees engaged and remaining legally compliant.
