Lydia is an associate in the Kansas City office of Ogletree Deakins. Lydia represents clients in all areas of employment law and assists with matters involving every stage of the employment relationship. She has intentionally crafted her legal practice to focus on the area of employment litigation and has advised clients on matters ranging from discrimination and retaliation claims brought under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), to workplace investigations and compliance. Prior to joining the firm, Lydia was an associate at another large employment defense firm in the Kansas City area and has additionally clerked at the Missouri Commission on Human Rights (MCHR) and multiple plaintiff-side employment firms.

Lydia is a graduate of the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law. While at UMKC Law, she drafted one of the top 10 appellate briefs in her class, earning a spot on the law school’s Ellison Moot Court Competition team and later served as a member of the Moot Court Board and Law Review staff. She also competed as a finalist in the Law School’s 1L Mock Trial competition and ABA Negotiation teams. As an extension of her skills in oral advocacy, Lydia now particularly enjoys participating in management and employee trainings, and presenting on various current events and hot topics relevant to your business and workplace.

When she’s not at work, you can often find Lydia in the yoga studio, hiking, biking, camping, or generally enjoying the great outdoors.
